About Days Counted

Days Counted is a collection of free calculators about time: how long you have been alive, how far you have travelled around the Sun, how many weekends sit between now and an age you choose, and dozens of other ways to see a life in numbers.

Every calculator is interactive and drawn by hand for its topic, and each one explains your result in plain language after you calculate, along with a short article on the method and sources behind it. We check the arithmetic against worked examples and cite where the data comes from, such as national statistics offices, the United Nations and NASA.

Who makes it

Days Counted is made by a small team that enjoys numbers, calendars and good charts. We add and improve calculators steadily, and we read every message that comes in.

A note on the numbers

Our calculators are for curiosity and planning, not for medical, legal or financial decisions. Wherever a calculator uses an age you pick, that age is a scenario you choose, never a prediction about you.
